New Feature: Schedule Meetups for Delegates

One of the most spoken about features from our online events are the networking features and functionality. A popular function last year was teh random chat roulette networking functionality, whereby delegates were paired randomly for up to 3 minutes.

The video chat roulette function was extremely popular last year, so we will continue with that feature. We will also have more breakout and networking areas built right into the schedule so everyone has more of a chance to be networking with others.

New for 2021 we have several new features and functionality. One of the ones we are most excited about is the delegate meetup scheduler. This is the ability for delegates to schedule meetings between each other during the event. A delegate can now schedule and request a meeting with up to 4 other individuals at the same time.

Just like in an in-person event or conference, attendees want to be able to meet with one another in order to help build meaningful connections.

With this new feature, using the “people” tab of the side panel, attendees can send out meeting invitations for up to 4 other users (limit to 5 attendees per meeting). If the other invitees accept, they will be notified 5 minutes before the meeting is about to start, and again when the meeting is starting. This notification can take the attendees directly into the meeting room.

The current capabilities of this feature include: 

– Attendees can schedule meetings within the time-bounds of the event.
– The creator of the meeting will be notified when an attendee accepts or declines an invitation in the notifications tab.
– Accepted meetings show up in the event notification tabs.
